BBC Radio 4 interviewed Hilde Vrancken to ask her perspective on using seaweed for livestock feed

BBC Radio 4 featured a special series about seaweed in Farming Today. As more research is done into the methane emitted by cattle and sheep, scientists are beginning to think that feeding seaweed to livestock could reduce their carbon footprint. One particular type of red seaweed is currently being trialled at two farms in Ireland. In one of the broadcasts our seaweed veterinarian Hilde explained the use of a specific specie of seaweed that can be used to reduce methane emissions at cows.
