Every ton of seaweed has absorbed 120 kg CO2, 2 kg of nitrogen and 0.2 kg of phosphorus.
Seaweed cultivation creates new economic activity in coastal communities.
Seaweed reduces ocean acidification and promotes marine biodiversity.
We are an impact company. Our three Impact Metrics above give a sense of the measurable impact that we are already making today. And we’re growing it every day. Impact in engrained in our company's DNA in everyday decision and choices.
Our impact approach is built on the GIIN IRIS+ principles, the generally accepted system for measuring, managing, and optimizing impact. Click here if you want to read more about our impact framework & approach. In 2023, we expect to publish our first Impact Report. We regularly update our actual impact metrics through impact reporting on our website.
Low in fat and rich in proteins, carbohydrates, minerals, vitamins (A, C, E) and essential micronutrients (iodine, zinc, iron), seaweed holds an untapped potential to contribute to the food system by being a nutritional source of food for humans, feed for aquaculture and land animals, and fertilizers for crops.
Driven by one of our principles, we work intensively with local coastal communities for the operation of our farms. As well we implement a Seaweed Valorisation Model for island communities to become more independent and resilient.
Seaweed solutions are circular by nature. We are committed to operating a regenerative, nature positive value chain with a minimal waste footprint. Seaweed-based products deliver numerous benefits for humans, animals, soil and plants. Switching to seaweed alternatives reduces the need for existing fossil-fuel rich processes and production.
Running farms in Ireland, Morocco, India and The Netherlands our seaweed contributes to the restoration of coastal and ocean zones. Its growth only requires sunlight and naturally occurring marine nutrients. The biomass actively removes excess nutrients from eutrophic areas, and mitigates ocean acidification. While growing, seaweed also forms a habitat for marine life and enriches marine biodiversity.
We have a range of health supplements and skincare products that support internal (gut) and external (skin) immune systems. As well we work with medical universities on the research on Alzheimer, obesity, diabetes, and the safety of seaweed-based proteins.
We are a vertically integrated biotech company, active across the entire seaweed supply chain, with the development of high-end value products for humans, animals and plants. We are among the first building a sustainable seaweed industry for generations to come, standardising production of traceable and sustainable seaweed species in different locations around the world.
Our farms in India, Ireland, Morocco and The Netherlands today absorb ca. 450 tonnes of CO2 per year. Our TopHealth Plants bio stimulant increases Soil Organic Carbon (SOC) content by up to 15 to 25% over 3 years, on top of replacing fossil-fuel based fertilizers and pesticides. Our animal supplements have recently shown an improved Feed Conversion Ratio (FCR) with swine, cows and poultry with at minimum 10%, significantly reducing the feed print.
Our TopHealth Plants range (agriculture, horticulture, pastures, soil) replaces fossil-fuel fertilizers and poisonous pesticides. Our TopHealth Swine, Dairy and Poultry products support health & wellbeing of farm animals. Both product ranges support regenerative, inclusive farming approaches.

Seaweed is regenerative by nature. Our operation has several areas where carbon capturing comes in place.
To start with, seaweed, like land plants, uses photosynthesis to turn carbon dioxide (CO2) into seaweed biomass.
The amount of carbon dioxide sequestered during growth can be easily measured and ranges between 11-14% of wet weight. Then our bio stimulant increases Soil Organic Carbon content, our TopHealth Dairy reduces methane emissions and all TSC animal blends improve Feed Conversion Rate.
We set up operating entities where we work with local coastal communities for the operations at sea. We employ or work directly with local coastal families in the seaweed value chain.
With our Blue Farming® approach, we support farmers in their transition to sustainable and organic farming. Our TopHealth seaweed-based products have the ability to contribute to many valuable elements for the farmer: 1) better health & wellbeing of animals, soils and plants, 2) higher quality and better performance of animals, soils and plants, 3) less use of harmful inputs, 4) positive climate contribution and 5) economic benefits for the farmers.
